Hispan Aires Spanish Levels |
Learn basic Spanish to start communicating and
getting basic ideas as the Spanish Course goes
on. Spanish courses in all levels are focused on
communication and grammar. Just from the start
you will be able to practice Spanish everywhere.
The school staff will also help you to practice
the language. Some items are - greetings,
numbers, days of the week, the present tense and
the gerund.
During your stay in Buenos Aires you will have
the opportunity to practice your Spanish in our
cultural and social activities as well as in the
school having conversations with other students
and staff.
In this Spanish level,
you can practice what you have already learnt in
the Beginners I course. Learn new vocabulary and
practice the language with school staff and
teachers. Grammar items are for example: past
tense - useful expressions to ask for things -
prepositions - direct and indirect object.
After the Beginner I course the student feels
more confident about the language so as to
continue learning. In this level it is expected
the student uses present tenses in the correct
way to have, at the end of the level, an
introduction to past tenses and be able to use
time phrases denoting the preterit tense in the
right way. The use of direct and indirect object
is also very important in this Spanish level
since it is essential to have a clear idea of
the use of these structures.
Intermediate 1 is a key level as regards
communication and grammar. The student
strengthens already learnt grammar points in
beginner levels. From Intermediate 1 onwards the
student is expected to make himself understand
only in Spanish while improving day after day.
Difference in Spanish past tenses is essential
at Intermediate levels. Transitive and
intransitive constructions, Subjunctive Mood,
comparatives and superlatives, orders, etc. are
some of the grammar items included.
In Intermediate 2 the student’s skills to retell
and make full Spanish descriptions acquire more
accuracy and he feels that the effort of an
Intermediate 2 student towards being fluent is
worthy to write full compositions and manage the
language freely. Some grammar items -
Conditional sentences, passive voice, narrative
structures, time correlation, etc.
At this point, you will fall in love with the
Spanish Language. From now on you will feel that
in each Spanish Lesson you have learnt a lot of
grammar so as to communicate with others,
express opinions, tell stories, etc. All Spanish
Courses are focused on communication and
practice. So start practicing now!
Advanced students have the possibility to
strengthen specific items as the Spanish classes
need arise. Communication in the advanced level
is fluent and a wide range of Spanish contents
are studied, and at the same time they acquire
more important vocabulary of the language.
The fluent level of Spanish is a great challenge
for the student to put into practice all he has
learnt in the advanced level plus the
possibility to participate in open debates in
the class proposed by the teacher and the
students.

periods of class. Your teacher will

audible material is included;

comprehension.
We have a video room at Hispan

also have board games for each
specific Spanish level. We do
believe that playing games is
another important tool to learn

Spanish Classes: Slang language
(Lunfardo)
Lunfardo
is the jargon originally used by the people who
belonged to low social classes, normally in the
city of Buenos Aires and its surroundings. It
was made known by the rest of social classes and
the rest of the country.
Another important aspect is the use of such
words consciously. We know the word mujer
(woman) exits, but sometimes we choose
to use the word “mina” instead. Or
it is also the case of the word dinero,
we occasionally prefer to use the word
“guita”. It is important to mention that
tango and lunfardo
were born during the same period and in the same
place.
Along the years, lunfardo has been
acquired by all social classes after the
diffusion tango lyrics, theatre and certain
popular journalism have provided to it.
